Care and Cleaning of Bathroom Sink Faucets is a Simple Job!
Your bathroom sink faucet was a carefully thought out purchase, an investment in the beauty of your home and the functionality of your bathroom. So the cleaning of your faucets is an important part of the maintenance and life of that fixture. Reading the warranty information is a good first step, we wouldn't want to use the wrong cleaning method to void the warranty. All of our merchants have cleaning and care advise on their websites so make sure to check that out.
Most manufacturers use a special plating process to protect the finish from tarnishing. Some examples are; “PVD” Physical Vapor Deposition or “Lifetime” finish. This special plating process that bonds the finish to the faucet’s surface for greater protection, is also used on exterior door hardware. Basically cleaning faucets is simple! Use soapy water and a soft cloth for cleaning and polishing. Household cleaners and abrasives will damage the protected finish.
Water deposits build up around faucets and drain areas. Tru using a paper towel soaked in white vinegar and place around the faucet. Plug the drain and pour 1/2 cup white vinegar in the sink and wait. It takes time for the white vinegar to dissolve the alkaline deposits. Scrub using a stiff bristled nylon toothbrush.
Do not use orange based or powdered cleansers on brass or gold plated faucets. These fixtures corrode and scratch quickly. Always dry these faucets after each use to prevent water spot damage.
